Butter Clay Slime
Butter Slime is called “butter” because the texture is spreadable, much like butter itself. It has a creamy, soft, pillowy feel. The key is the addition of air dry clay (the clay we use is especially supple; not all brands create a good butter slime). It tends to be less sticky than other slimes. Words associated with Butter: playable, holdable. It is also a favorite of adult slimers as it isn’t as sticky as some other types.
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
How to play:
Butter is smooth and soft. It’s known for spreading, as if you’re doing so with a mushy stick of butter. It stretches, swirls, and makes for what we call the perfect TV slime (easy to play with while watching TV).
Thick Glossy Slime
One of the original DIY slime textures, thick glossy is both thick and glossy. It is known for the way it pops and makes bubbles. It’s poke-worthy for ASMR sounds.
Level: Expert
How to play:
Thick & Glossy is an expert level slime as it is one that melts more easily than others. It can always be reactivated (see slime care) and brought back to life though. The best features of T&G: poking, popping, bubble making, huge stretches, and watching it drizzle.
Clear Slime
Clear slime is made with clear glue so it is typically transparent, even when color is involved (if you add a lot of pigment, the slime may seem opaque but when stretched, you will be able to see its beautiful translucent). This slime is the best for BIG bubbles, huge pops and ASMR sounds. The trick to making it is to keep everything super clean in order to maintain the most transparency possible.
Level: Expert
How to play:
Clear is an expert level slime as it is one that melts the fastest. It can always be reactivated and brought back to life. The best features of clear: poking, popping, bubble making, huge stretches, and watching it drizzle. Clear will fill with air bubbles and fog up when you play with it. If your hands are perfectly clean, it will clear up again when left alone.
Floam Slime
A crunchy slime with the addition of foam beads. Overnight, the beads float to the top so the first crunch is incredibly satisfying. When making the base, it’s key to have it feel a little bit stickier than other slimes in order for the beads to stay inside the slime (otherwise you get what’s known as “fall out,” which is when the foam beads fall out).
Level: Expert
How to play:
This is the slime for those who love super crunchy textures that are full of sound. When playing, stretch slowly. It takes time to warm this slime up. If you pull too fast, it will rip or the beads may fall out. Once you get it going, it will stretch and drizzle with beauty. It will inflate with air. The more air you get, the crunchier and louder it will be.
Cloud Slime
Think of a super stretchy and fluffy slime that feels cottony and feathery to the touch. That’s cloud. It’s airy and known for the way it drizzles (a lot like soft serve ice cream falling down unto itself). The key ingredient is inflatable snow. It takes time and nuance to perfect the making of a cloud - it also requires practice to learn the art achieving the perfect drizzle.
Level: All
How to play:
Cloud is a crowd favorite for the way it fluffs up as you stretch and drizzles like soft serve ice cream, delicately folding unto itself. The more you stretch, the better it will drizzle. Cloud may leave a bit of dry snow in its wake (it will easily clean up). It’s the least sticky of all slimes and great for beginners and experts alike.
Icee Slime
Pronounced “icy,” it’s a clear glue-based slime with wet instant snow though not as much as you’d add to a cloud slime. The more water you add to the snow, the “wetter” the slime feels. The feeling of icee is a lot like you’d expect as it mimics the look and feel of the Italian dessert of the same name. It’s a “cousin” to jelly slime.
Level: Intermediate
How to play:
Icee is called Icee (pronounced “icy”) because it looks and feels like Italian Icee desserts. It’s made with clear glue which is why it’s more of an expert slime. It may have a transparency but it will turn opaque as you play with it more. It pops, stretches, bubbles and stretches with ease.
Snowfizz Slime
A sizzly, crunchy slime thanks to the addition of fake snow (the snow we use is made from upcycled plastic bottles or hangers). It has a sandy texture, almost similar to an exfoliator at a spa.
Level: Intermediate
How to play:
Snowfizz is made with a form of faux snow that adds a sandy texture (kind of like exfoliator) and a sizzly sound when you press, stretch, and pull it. The swirls and stretches are top notch.. The more you play and fill it with air, the more you get the sizzly sounds.
Jelly Slime
Making Icee is similar to making jelly (it involves clear glue, but dry instant snow); it has a jelly-like feel (literally like jam).
Level: Intermediate
How to play:
Jelly has a look that is a bit like artisanal jelly, hence the name. A cousin to Icee, it’s made with clear glue which is why it’s more of an expert slime. It may have a transparency but it will turn opaque as you play with it more. It pops, stretches, bubbles and stretches with ease.
Bingsu Slimes
Bingsu is an iridescent bead that, when added to slime, makes the texture crunchy. It’s best with clear slime and butter slimes.
Level: Intermediate
How to play:
This is the slime for those who love super crunchy textures that are full of sound. When playing, stretch slowly. It takes time to warm this slime up. If you pull too fast, it will rip due to the heavy bead to slime ratio. Once you get it going, it will stretch and drizzle with beauty. It will inflate with air. We recommend adding the excess in a different air tight container or zip lock bag and combining it back when it deflates overnight.
Float Slime
A float slime is the combination of clear slime and cloud slime, assembled with a beautiful layering effect, where the cloud slime literally looks like it’s effortlessly floating on top. It’s best to mix this one slowly so you can see the combination of textures. The resulting mix is light, fluffy, airy, stretchy, and playable.
Level: Intermediate
Cloud Creme Slime
Cloud Creme is similar to cloud though it’s not as fluffy and it doesn’t offer the same drizzle impact. It feels creamy and is inflatable (the more you play with it, the bigger it grows due to the fact that air gets trapped inside of the slime). It makes gorgeous swirls and pops.
Level: Intermediate
How to play:
This texture is incredibly fluffy and inflating. It makes delightful pops, stretches, drizzles, and bubbles. It is spreadable, swirl-worthy and made for squeezing. It has a creamy feel and pillowy vibe.
DIY Clay Slime
DIY Clay slimes come with a clay topper (often sculpted into fun shapes - sports balls, unicorns, animals, desserts, etc.). You mush the clay into the base slime, which turns the texture into one that is more buttery by nature. So a cloud will turn to a cloud dough and a thick and glossy transforms to butter as examples.
Level: Intermediate
How to play:
This type is called DIY clay because the clay piece that matches is hand-made (hence DIY) and when you mix it in with the base slime, you create a new texture (so you do-it-yourself too). Sometimes the clay pieces are so cute, it’s hard to imagine squishing them (you can let it dry out and keep it as a little friend). But we promise, mushing is incredibly satisfying.
Whatever the base texture is, the addition of clay will make the slime more rich and dough-like and buttery in vibe. You can add the excess to an air-tight container you may have at home or a zip lock bag.
Bead Bomb
Bead Bomb is a type of crunchy slime that contains more beads than slime so it’s EXTRA textural; the sounds are the best!
